Have I joined the game too late?

It appears two prominent bloggers - Helen Dale (aka skeptic lawyer) and Mark Bahnisch have decided that their blogging is interfering with their offline commitments.

I’m already a busy person - and am starting to wonder what sort of lifespan this blog will have…

I never read much over at catallaxy, but will miss Mark and his contributions at LP.

Next post I will try my best to outline exactly what I am doing here.

I know a few mums who have run support sites or crafty blogs for parents find the whole regularity thing very draining.

It is often the demands of one’s own household clashing with the expectations of blog regulars which finishes it off.

I recall with one blog I enjoyed reading, the owner had her second baby and found the transition to 2 kids hard work (and rightly so!). There had been a brief pause in her blogging (perhaps a week?) and then a post detailling a disgruntled email she had recieved from a reader, demanding to know why she had not been writing, and expressing her discontent at the recent decline in content on the blog.

The author felt sad that she had let her readers down, but there followed a message list count of lose to 400, supporting her in her downtime, and encouraging her to have more for her kids.
She has since shut her site down, and is hopefully having a very fulfilling time with her kids.
